The Days of May

Well, let me first apologize as I know it has been quite sometime since I updated the blog. It has been a busy month, first Lester and I celebrated our 8th anniversary, we took a trip to Georgia for Lester's niece's graduation, and Leah had her 1st birthday. It has been a busy month!

We had a great trip to Georgia and once our computer works again I will post some of the graduation pictures. It was wonderful to spend time with family and celebrate Angela's accomplishment. She is a wonderful young lady and we expect great things from her. Les and I had a wonderful trip to Georgia. We stopped at a Harley dealership in every state and got a T-Shirt, enjoyed a wonderful lunch at a hole in the wall restaurant called Carol Ann's and enjoyed being with one another without interruption from a little person. Leah spent the long weekend with her grandmother and was completely spoiled by the time we came home.

Leah's birthday was on May 29th and we spent the evening with her favorite people, Shelly and Chris (who she thinks are her second set of parents) and the Schnick's. It was a great day, it is hard to believe that the year has gone this fast but it has been wonderful. Her party is on the 6th and we are very excited to celebrate with friends and family.

Leah is learning to enjoy being outside, she is becoming less and less afraid of the grass all the time. Yesterday we spent some time with Lee and Lauren and the girls had fun playing together.

Leah was trying to hug Lauren when we were outside playing!

Lauren was also kind enough to share her toys. Won't daddy be so proud!

We hope all of you have a great week and look forward to celebrating with you on the 6th!

New Information

Wanted to share our new found information about Leah. She seems to share a love of break dancing that her father and friend Hayden have. The following is her version of break dancing which seems to occur on a nightly basis, especially when she is tired. I think she has a bright future!

Spring Break

Well this week is spring break for us and we were lucky enough to get to spend time with my mom and sister and share the Easter holiday at home. We had a great time and Leah enjoyed seeing everyone and spending time with her cousins. Lester and I left Leah with Jamie and my mom and we spent a few days away. We had a great time and it was wonderful to get away. Leah too had a great time, Josh taught her new tricks and she is even better at spitting than she was when we left! She also grew three new teeth over the break and I swear she is taller. We had a wonderful spring break and were grateful to get to spend time with family. Hope the week finds all of you well!

Remembering

Well today is a sad and happy day all wrapped up into one. It was three years ago today that Evonne passed away, which undoubtedly brings about some sad memories. But, having Leah helps Lester and I both to remember what a great spirit she was. Looking at Leah it is hard to deny the resemblance as she looks just like her father and he looks just like his mother, so it is easy to see Evonne in her. Leah and I spend time often talking about her grandmother, what she was like, the kind of person she was and the shoes that Leah has to fill having part of her name. Today we are saddened by the loss of Evonne but thrilled that we have a little girl to continue with the name Leah Evonne Norvell, as we expect her to be as great as her grandmother.

These are the days of our Lives!

Greetings to all,

Well we have had an interesting week, Leah is now 10 months old and seemingly has decided that she prefers to spit her food than eat it. We have had some eating issues lately as she is disinterested in her bottle and as of this weekend not interested in spoon feeding either. Lester and I are hoping it is a brief phase but are getting our lessons in patience. On a positive note Leah has also decided that walking is more fun than crawling and she is letting go of furniture and walking around the room with ease. She also has developed a love of music. Bill, Jamie, and the boys bought Leah a Veggie Tales Sing Along Songs and she loves it, she dances and waves her hands and it quite interesting to watch! Overall, it has been another great week and we prayed tonight for patience and understanding of how to handle this great new phase. As always we hope all of you have a blessed week!

What a great time!

What a great time we have been having in the Norvell home. First, last weekend Leah attended her first birthday party as our friends Brian and Lee's little girl, Lauren, celebrated her first birthday. It was great and we were really glad to be able to share that day with them. It did invoke some sadness to think that in a few short months that will be us. Where has the time gone? This weekend we were blessed with a visit from Aunt Jamie, Uncle Bill, Curtis and Josh. We all had a great time visiting and letting Leah have fun with her family. Lastly, we celebrated Lester's 35th birthday! We spent the day as a family, Les and I rode the Harley for a while and went to dinner with Leah. It was a great day! Lester is the best father and husband that anyone could ask for and Leah and I are so blessed to have him in our lives. His mother would be proud of the man he has become and the father that he is. Lester Sr. and Evonne did a great job of raising a man of character and I could not ask for more.

We hope all of you have a great week and I promise to post pictures again next time!

What a week!

What a week we have had, first we had a great visit from grandma and we had a wonderful time. Grandma and Leah got to spend time playing and building their life long connection. We also had our nine month check up this week and Leah now weighs 18 lb 2 oz and is 27 1/4 inches long. We are making progress! This weekend we also got to experience Leah's first steps. Lester and I were in the living room playing with her and away she went. By the end of the evening she was taking at least 5 steps at a time and loving her new independence! We are posting some new pictures and hopefully a video of the fun.
